OVERALL JOB PURPOSE

To carry out radiographic imaging for diagnosis treatment and management of patients, carried out with utmost transparency, professionalism and duty of care.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Radiography from a recognized university.
  • A Post graduate Diploma in Medical Ultra Sound will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in a reputable institution
  • Must be registered with the Allied Health Profession council and possess a valid practicing

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Positioning patients safely for examinations and, if necessary, adapting standard techniques, depending on medical conditions associated with disability, illness or trauma;
  • Recording imaging identification and patient documentation quickly and accurately and observing protocols to ensure compliance with the data protection act and patient confidentiality;
  • Learning new techniques and technologies as required by professional bodies and participating in annual performance appraisal programs;
  • Performing necessary administrative tasks, when required;
  • Understanding and observing health and safety at work and welfare issues, including ionizing radiation regulations, to protect yourself and others;
  • Undertaking quality control checks on x-rays and associated equipment, and contributing to quality assurance and audit initiatives;
  • Ensuring that equipment is regularly checked for malfunctions and any faults are reported;
  • Reporting incidents of injury to yourself or others according to departmental procedures;
  • Assessing patients and their clinical requirements to determine appropriate radiographic techniques;
  • Performing a range of radiographic examinations on patients to produce high-quality images;
  • Observing and maintaining contact with patients during their waiting, examination and post-examination stay in the department.
  • Assisting in more complex radiological examinations under the supervision of a radiologist and senior staff
  • Working effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team to ensure that an efficient service is provided to patients, for example by sharing specialist knowledge and expertise;
  • Using initiative to prioritize, deliver and time-manage workload effectively and, when appropriate, assisting senior staff to plan efficient control of work flow patterns within the department;

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma in Comprehensive Nursing with progressive perioperative services experience or perioperative nursing management experience with increasing level of administrative responsibility and authority.
  • Experience: 3 years and more
  • Licensure and/or Certification Required- Certificate from the nurses and midwives’ council.

  •  Oversees management of perioperative services operationally and fiscally.
  • Creates and conveys the mission and vision of peri-operative services with the assistance of the management team.
  • Verifies that peri-operative staff provide safe and effective patient-centered care in perioperative services.
  • Assists peri-operative staff in evaluating practice and creating strategies for further improvement.
  •  Verifies that educational resources are available for perioperative services personnel and holds personnel accountable for compliance with established standards.
  • Coordinates, facilitates, and manages change within perioperative services and the health care institution.
  • Demonstrates effective communication, consultation, negotiation, and collaboration skills with members of the perioperative team and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain effective communication with patient families and carers, all members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure smooth progression of each theatre list to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.
  • Collects and analyzes data related to quality or performance improvement projects that apply to perioperative services.

  • Evaluates perioperative personnel performance.

  • Provides guidance, support, and constructive feedback to perioperative personnel team members and other team members as appropriate.

  • Assist and directly supervise the rest of the theater nurses in providing nursing care.
  • Ensure proper use of materials and solutions sparingly without compromising the care from the teams.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains theater nursing procedures and practices (Standard Operating Procedures).
  • Works closely with hospital staff, surgeons, anesthetist/anesthesiologists and other theater staff to ensure the highest standards of quality and service are maintained.
  • Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the theater and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the theater department together with the hospital anesthesiologist.
  • Assist during surgeries scheduled on the days while on duty and when called upon.

  • Ensure handover of the theater supplies, drugs and equipment is done by all staff.

Security Officer

JOB TITLE:                            Security Officer

DEPARTMENT:                    Security and Maintenance

REPORTS TO:                       Head of Security and Maintenance

INTERFACES WITH:            Administrator, Human Resource Manager and Team Leaders from other departments

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of UCE Certificate
  • A certificate from a recognized security training institution.

INDIVIDUAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Welcoming all the guests and all the customers that are coming in to the hospital
  • Answering visitor’s questions concerning locations of various offices, rooms, and other areas within the hospital
  • Observing the clients and non-clients to make sure we offer help where possible
  • Observing and know the hospital staff coming in and going out
  • Observing the client who have luggage and advising them not leave it lying around or un attended
  • Guiding the hospital clients to make sure they take the right directions
  • Observing the admitted clients (inpatients) before they leave, they have to present their discharge form and we must consult from the team to see that the admitted patients have paid their bills and dully discharged

GENERAL SECURITY

  • Ensuring that there is peace and calm at the hospital
  • Observing that the hospital property is in place and not tempered with or taken away
  • Reporting any missing property of the hospital, staff and clients from the hospital to the head of security/maintenance at all times

PARKING

  • Monitoring the park yard to see that it’s clear before taking over the shift (no bomb, abandoned car etc.)
  • Checking cars and verifying if vehicles are parked in restricted areas, such as fire zones, ambulance entrances or reserved parking spaces
  • Mastering the client who have parked to make sure that they do not block each other
  • Reporting and raising an alarm if the person picking the car did not park it
  • Ensuring that the parking is clean at all times

POWER SUPPLY

  • Ensuring that lights are on when it turns dark and off if there is natural light
  • Maintaining power backup, generator to make sure the fuel and the water level are as required
  • Switching on and off the generator when required
  • Cleaning the generator every week
